Who we are

Really Good Job Finder is run by Alexander Kharchenko, a sole trader in the UK ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

What we collect

What	Details
Early-access list	Your email address, when you joined and which sign-up form you used.
Account details	Your name, username and password. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash, so we can't read them.
Your CV and profile	The text of the CV you upload or paste, your conversation with the agent and the search profile you approve. We extract the text from uploaded files and don't keep the original file.
Jobs and tracking	The roles found for you, their status and any notes you add.
Usage records	When you run searches or send messages to the agent, and what they cost us to run, so we can apply your plan's monthly limits.
Billing	Once paid plans launch, Stripe handles payments. We receive your name, email address, billing country and payment status, never your full card details.
Technical data	Your IP address and basic browser information in server logs, which we use to keep the service secure, for example by limiting repeated sign-in attempts.

Sensitive information in CVs

We don't need information such as your health, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation, and we'd rather your CV didn't include it unless it's relevant to the jobs you want. If you choose to include it, we use it only to run your searches, based on your explicit consent, which you can withdraw by removing it from your CV and profile.

How we use your data and why

UK data protection law requires a lawful basis for each use of personal data. Ours are:

To provide the service: building your profile, running searches, and showing and tracking results. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
To email you about early access, based on your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by replying to any email or contacting us.
To manage subscriptions and payments, which is necessary for our contract with you, and to keep the financial records the law requires.
To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, which is in our legitimate interests and yours.
To understand and improve the service using usage figures, such as how many searches ran and what they cost. This is in our legitimate interests. We don't use your CV to train AI models.

How the AI agent uses your data

Your CV, preferences and conversation are sent to OpenAI, our AI provider, so the agent can build your profile and run your searches. OpenAI processes this data on our behalf under its API terms, which don't allow it to use the data to train its models by default, and retains it in line with its API data-retention policy.

When searching, the agent looks up job listings on the web, such as roles and locations that match your profile. It never applies for jobs or contacts employers or recruiters on your behalf.

The agent gives each role a match score and explains its reasoning. This helps you decide what to read. It doesn't make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects: you decide where to apply.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf and only on our instructions:

OpenAI, to run the AI agent
Our hosting provider, which runs the servers where the service and your data are stored
Stripe, to take payments once paid plans launch
Our email provider, to send and receive email
Discord, which notifies us when someone joins the early-access list

We don't sell your data, share it with employers or recruiters, or use it for advertising. We'll only disclose it to anyone else if the law requires us to.

International transfers

Some of our providers, including OpenAI, Stripe and Discord, process data outside the UK, including in the United States. When they do, we rely on the safeguards UK law provides, such as the UK–US data bridge or the Information Commissioner's approved international data transfer agreements.

How long we keep it

Early-access list: until you ask us to remove you, or 12 months after early access ends, whichever comes first.
Your account, CV, profile, conversations and jobs: while your account is open. When you close it, we delete them within 30 days. Copies in our backups are overwritten within a further 30 days.
Usage and billing records: up to six years after the end of the tax year they relate to, because tax law requires it. Usage records are separated from your identity when your account is closed.
Server logs: normally no more than 90 days.

Your rights

You have the right to:

get a copy of your personal data
have inaccurate data corrected
have your data deleted
restrict or object to how we use it
receive your data in a portable format
withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it

To use any of these rights, email hello@reallygoodjobfinder.com. We'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies and tracking

This website (reallygoodjobfinder.com) doesn't use cookies, analytics or tracking of any kind.

The app (app.reallygoodjobfinder.com) uses one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in. It also stores a couple of display preferences, such as dark mode, in your browser. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.

Age

The service is for people aged 18 and over.

Changes to this policy

We'll post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we'll email account holders before it takes effect.
